Good Afternoon!

Quote of the Week:

Self Actualization

“The highest form of success… comes not to the man who desires mere easy peace, but to the man who does not shrink from danger, from hardship, or from bitter toil, and who out of these wins the splendid ultimate triumph.”

~ Theodore Roosevelt, 26th U.S. President

Well, in case you missed yet another part of history over the weekend and yesterday, Tiger Woods won his 14th major tournament, just 4 shy of Jack Nicklaus’ record for most majors won. Watching him play is indescribable.

Instead of recording my own video this week, I’ve decided to dedicate two of his, as it’s certainly the right time for some tribute to his triumph. Even if you’re not a sports fan, and I’ve said this before, I recommend watching him play…though it may be awhile because of an injury. We are in the presence of greatness and if you’ve ever played a round of golf in your life, I’m sure your appreciation goes beyond measure, as it does for me. He was the reason that I took up the sport years ago and I love it more and more every time I play it. I remember back when I was a kid I would see golf on TV and I would wonder how on earth anyone could sit and watch 4 hours of this nonsense! NOW I understand.

I included this commercial because it’s one of the best and most touching commercials I’ve ever seen. Tiger Woods’ father died a little over a year ago, which makes it even more meaningful to watch. It’s kinda cool to hear about the things that his dad used to do to him as a kid to encourage his success. You’ll probably watch this more than once and your boss will understand!:

Tiger Woods has just officially taken Muhammad Ali’s place as the most recognizable athlete in sports history. Yes, THAT’s the kind of history we are witnessing right now. Unbelievable.

… and here’s a good one to lighten up your day!

Finally, I wanted to remind you that we have a workshop coming up next week entitled, “Money Matters in Marriage and Relationships”…presented by Todd Creager, contributing coauthor of “Finding Life’s Passion” and Founder of The Todd Creager Center for Successful Relationships in Huntington Beach, CA. Janet and I will only speak for a few minutes and we’re leaving it up to Todd to do the rest. Personally, I can’t wait to for this event and hope that you’ll join us. I have found in my 14 years of seeing first hand how relationships work around money that a lack of communication and understanding surrounding this issue is unfortunately a huge contributor to divorce in this country and I feel that it doesn’t need to be that way. The best way to avoid problems is to be pro-active. It’s like working out and eating right to stay lean and healthy. It’s all about being pro-active, which means doing your best to be ready for an unforeseen circumstance….like a big hamburger for example. Oh wait… =)

It’s the same for relationships and money. You’ve got to work at it, right? Attending a FREE seminar about this topic would be a great learning experience and we’re proud to be a part of it.

To RSVP online, simply go to www.silverstarfinance.com/event and enter your information. It’s that easy. Otherwise, you can simply reply to this email and I’ll add you to the list.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week!

GO LAKERS!
